Albania is often called the poorest country in Europe. Albania is a 90% Muslim country
(just like the neighboring UN-protected Kosovo). Nevertheless do not expect burkas
and Sharia law in Albania. Islam is for most of the Albanians a matter of identity:
They are Muslim because they are Albanians. The people are open and friendly and
like to meet foreigners. The Albanian climate is typical southern European – dry
and warm. 90% of Albania is mountains. Inbetween the mountains are the people… easy
to find.
In Albanian villages it is possible to go on the streets, but most of the
outreach will be held in buildings or in people’s homes. In any way possible, we
will make good use of the skills learnt in the workshops during the conference.
